Richard Pruitt July 29, 2020

This is from “Some old boy named Richard Pruitt”, who dared to make a collect call to his new girlfriend, Gloria, from his dormitory on Charlie Ray’s watch. You were my very kind and wise father-in-law for over 40 years and the grandfather of our three children, Amanda, Candace and David.

“Some old son-in law,

Richard Douglas Pruitt”

"Deac" was a light and an inspiration at the church, it didn't matter what program was being sponsored Deac was there to support. He always had a ready smile, and words of wisdom to encourage you. As he would say " I just got to say it the way it's in my heart" Deac was the epitome of a Godly man, he always acknowledged man, woman or child didn't matter.. a smile, a nod, a word and if he knew you well a hug. To him I was "Sam" and when Phyllis tried to tell him my name was San he said " I know what you said but I say Sam" and that was what it was.
He will surely be missed.
What a legacy he left!
Family my husband and I will be praying for you and if there is anything we can do all you need to do is call. Please accept our heartfelt condolences.

Dearest Rivers Family,
What an honor it was to have known Deacon Rivers.
He was an outstanding neighbor, hard worker & loyal soldier in God's Army. You never saw him without a smile & a kind word, always willing to help anyone. He found joy in life's simple pleasures & always had a good fishing story to share.
Please know we're keeping you all in our prayers for strength & comfort, may you find peace in your precious memories of an amazing man.
