Mr. William Lee Roy Whitesides, 62, of Advance, passed away peacefully Monday, December 30, 2024, at his home.

He was born on March 31, 1962, in Norfolk, VA, to the late Bobby Randolph Whitesides, Sr. and Mary Jo Cook Whitesides.

Lee served in the U.S. Army during the latter part of The Cold War period, and he retired after 28 and half years with the Davie County Sheriff's Department. When he retired, he was a Lieutenant in the Criminal Division.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Bobby Randolph "Randy" Whitesides, Jr.

He is survived by his wife, Jessica Whitesides; special mother, Donnie Whitesides; daughter; Jessalee Raine Whitesides; sister, Janice Rafalko (Allen); nephew, Danny Whitesides (Wendy); great-nephew, Zack Whitesides (Morgan); nieces, Zoey Younce, Taylor Younce, Elaina Prince; special nephews, Jordan Younce, Brian Younce, and Matt Kimmer (Amy); and many more nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted at 6 p.m., Sunday, January 5, at Lambert Funeral Chapel with Minister Brian Diggs officiating.
