Wayne Anderson Williams, Sr., 87, of Salisbury, died Sunday, January 11, 2026, at Liberty Commons Nursing & Rehabilitation Center of Rowan County in Salisbury.

He was born July 6, 1938, in Davie County, to the late William "Willie" Anderson and Brownie Bell Powell Williams. Wayne was very mechanically inclined and enjoyed tinkering. He also enjoyed fishing and playing the guitar.

He was preceded in death by sons, Tony Williams, and James Matthew Williams; siblings, Elouise W. Green, William Baxter Williams, and Roger Dale Williams; a special nephew, Thomas "Gene" Shelton.

Survivors include a son, Wayne Anderson "Andy" Williams, Jr.; siblings, Betty Sue Williams Bean and Kenneth Gerald Williams of Powder Springs, GA; grandsons, Nicholas Williams, Ben Watlington, Waylon Williams, and Austin James Williams; a special friend, Shannon Hill; and several nieces and nephews.

There are no services scheduled at this time.
