Wade Wilson was born on March 19, 1928 in Newbery, SC, son of the late Bud and Bertha Young Wilson. He attended public school in South Carolina and moved to North Carolina as a young man and lived with his grandparents and aunts in Cooleemee. He worked at Thornet Furniture Company and Uniglass in Statesville. He also worked for the City of Statesville and Powell Lumber Company in Mocksville. He was married to Ceola Wilson in 1954. He joined Piney Grove AME Zion Church, where he was a faithful member until his health declined. Known to family and friends as 'Nick,' he loved to hunt, fish, and grill outdoors. Nick also loved to laugh and socialize with friends. He was preceded in death by one son, Roscoe Wilson. On Thursday, February 16, 2012, he died in Davie Place, where he had lived for the past three years. He is survived by four sons, Barry M. Wilson, Wade Wilson, David Wilson and Brian Keith Wilson all of Mocksville; three daughters, Sheila (Alphonso) Keaton and Deeddra Scott both of Cleveland, and Venessa (Olander) Cuthrell of Mocksville; one daughter-in-law, Vera Nelson; one sister, Cora Wilson of New Haven, CT; one sister-in-law, Octavia Clement; one uncle, Joe Young; twenty-six grandchildren, including a special grandchild he raised, Parris Wilson. Parris was a devoted, faithful grandchild who visited his grandfather in the hospital every day; several other relatives and friends.
