Virginia Boger Cope, 88, of Mocksville, died Thursday, April 23, 2026, at

Hinkle Hospice Home in Lexington.

She was born June 6, 1937, in Davie County, to the late Millard and Ella Mae Potts Boger. After graduating from Mocksville High School, she worked 30 years for AT&T.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie W. Cope; brothers, Bobby and Carl Boger; a sister, Linda Lyerly; and a stepson, Tommy Cope.

Survivors include her sisters, Gladys Beaver, and Sarah Kerley (Steve); stepchildren, Roger Cope (Joy), Charles Cope (Carolyn), Vickie Cope Smith (Danny), and Kathy Cope Morris; numerous grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Monday, April 27, at Fork Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Adam Ridenhour, Pastor Ken Warner, and Rev. Roger Cope officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be considered for Fork Baptist Church, 3140 U.S. Hwy 64 E, Mocksville, NC 27028, memo: Robert Seaford Scholarship Fund; Fork Volunteer Fire Department, 3181 U.S. Hwy 64 E, Advance, NC 27006; or charity of donor's choice.
