Vernon Charles Russell Palmer, 78, of Advance, died Saturday, April 4, 2026, at Piedmont Health & Rehab Center in Salisbury.

He was born December 20, 1947, in Somerville, MA, to the late Vernon Russell and Verna D'Ambra Palmer.

Survivors include his wife, Kathryn Ann Kirby Palmer; his daughters, Crystal Gallo, and Lisa Timpe; a sister, Janet; one granddaughter; one grandson; and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m., Sunday, May 17, at The Episcopal Church of the Ascension at Fork, with The Rev. George Sherrill, Vicar officiating.
