Vera Elizabeth Davis was born January 2, 1931 to the late Azillee Johnson Barker and Ben Johnson. She graduated from Davie County Training School in 1951. Vera moved to Jamaica Queens, New York where she met her late husband, Dave Davis. After becoming disabled, Vera moved back to North Carolina and became an active member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Mocksville. On Wednesday, November 23, 2016, she was called home to be with the Lord. In addition to her parents, Vera was preceded in death by two sisters, Emma Lee Frost and Lillie Mae Johnson; five brothers, Paul Johnson, Benjamin Johnson, Ben J Johnson, Leonard Johnson, Thomas Johnson, and Bobby Johnson. Vera leaves to cherish her memory two sisters, Dorothy Anderson of Mocksville, NC and Mildred Mitchener of Baltimore, MD; two brothers, Calvin Johnson of Baltimore MD and Lawrence Rucker of Winston-Salem, NC; and a host of nieces and nephews.
