Thomas Brian Bumgarner, 43, of Mocksville, died Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at his home.

He was born July 29, 1979, in Iredell County.

Thomas was preceded in death by his father, Thomas McCoy Bumgarner; paternal grandparents, Harold Levi and Mary Bumgarner; maternal grandparents, Gilbert Lee and Annie Call McDaniel; and an aunt, Joyce Shaver.

Survivors include his mother, Carolyn Bumgarner Phillips (Steve); sons, Dylan and his mother, Beth Johnson, and Levi, and his mother Stephanie Bumgarner; siblings, Kimberly Phillips, Nicholas Phillips (Christina), and Amanda Wright (James); nieces, Chloe Phillips and Daisy Salano; and a nephew, David Phillips.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, January 8, at Calvary Baptist Church, 1663 US Hwy 601 S, with Pastor Jeffrey Bumgarner officiating. The service will be available to view on the funeral home website. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
