Obituary

Mrs. Thelma Louise Allen Payne, age seventy-eight, daughter of the late William Henry Allen, Sr. and Celessie Martin Allen, was born in Rowan County, NC on June 21, 1934. On Saturday, March 30, 2013, Mrs. Payne peacefully entered into eternal life. Louise attended Rowan County schools and graduated from R.A. Clement High School. She retired from Cannon Mills, Salisbury, NC. On November 04, 1958, she was united in marriage to William Payne, Sr. To this union, eleven children were born. Louise was a lifelong and faithful member of Erwin Temple C.M.E Church in Woodleaf, NC. She was a devoted member of the Stewardess, Missionary Committee, Usher Board, and Pastor's Aid. She loved her pastor, church family, and all of God's children. Her hobbies included baking, fishing, reading, spoiling her grandchildren, and spending time with family. Louise was preceded in death by her husband, William Payne, Sr.; two daughters, Angela D. Payne and Cynthia E. Payne; one grandchild, Kevin A. Howell; two brothers, Henry and Charlie Allen; four sisters, Ollie Wood, Bernice Chunn, Sarah Jackson, and Mary Allen. Those who shall forever cherish her memories are two sons, William (Sheila) Payne, Jr. and Glenn A. Payne of Salisbury, NC; seven daughters, Debra Payne Neely, Marcia Neely, Rosalind Payne, Felicia Payne, and Tammy Payne of Salisbury, NC, and Sarah Howell and Sonya (Stephen) of Mocksville, NC; three brothers William (Mary) Allen and Gary (Peggy) Allen of Mocksville, NC and Derry(Arva Jean) of Salisbury, NC; one sister Georgia (John) of Greensboro, NC; nineteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren that she cherished deeply and loved each one for being special; one special aunt, Lizzie Mayfield of Cooleemee; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
