Stephen Dewitt "Butch" Click, 75, of Cleveland, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family Thursday, September 16, 2021. He was born on May 5, 1946 in Davie County, to the late Clarence Dewitt Click and Frances Wall Click. Butch held membership at Edgewood Baptist Church for the majority of his life, where he spent years serving as head usher and took great pride in maintaining the lawn. He joined Cleveland First Baptist Church upon relocating to Cleveland, NC with family. While Butch had a quiet demeanor, he was a fierce prayer warrior, often naming each family member's needs and praying for their safety. He was known for his kindness, gentle nature, and his undeniable love for God and family. Butch lovingly committed to making each family member feel special; some of their fondest memories include him taking his nieces and nephews to story time at the library, playing at the local park, and teaching them practical skills such as how to count change and tell the time. He loved listening to music for hours, particularly his favorite artist, Elvis Presley. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his nephew, Michael Click. Those left to cherish his memories include his sister, Kay Settle, and her daughters, Felecia McSwain and Stephanie McClannon (Johnny); and his beloved great-nieces and nephews, Olivia Morgan (Matthew), Brandon McSwain (Maddie), Joshua McSwain (Emily), and Zoë McClannon, all of Cleveland. He also leaves behind his brother, Mike Click, and his daughters, Tracey Click and Michelle Click; and his great-nephew, Ean Click, of Mocksville. Additionally, left to cherish his memory is Dianne Sain (Dean), his cousin -- and bonus sister -- of Troutman. Family and friends will celebrate his life at 3 p.m., Saturday, September 18, 2021, at Lambert Funeral Chapel, in Mocksville, with Rev. Kestler Ruth officiating. A visitation will immediately follow the service.
