Mrs. Shirley Ann "Duck" Carter Hepler, 80, of Mocksville, died Sunday, October 27, 2024, at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem.
She is Home.
Mrs. Hepler was born November 15, 1943, in Logan County, WV, to the late John Ray and Beulah Standifurd Carter. She was a member of Cornatzer United Methodist Church. Mrs. Hepler had retired from Food Lion, and later the Davie Family YMCA.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Gray Hepler.
Survivors include sons, Mitchell Gray Hepler, Jared Allen Hepler (Angela), Kevin Carter Hepler (Rena), David Ralph Graley (Johnna) and Andy Atwood (Marsha); siblings, Jean Myers, Mary Griffith, Ray Carter, Jr. (Judy), Katy Carter, Margaret Walker (Frank), Pamela Curtiss (Ken), Stan Carter (Chris), and Janie Brown; grandchildren, Jayeann (Matt), Brittany (David), Ashley, Heather, Lil Jared, and Mason; great-grandchildren, Hastings, Haleigh, Brayson, Stella, and Anastasia.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m., Thursday, October 31, at Cornatzer Methodist Church Cemetery, with Rev. Glenda Everest Bennett officiating. The family invites friends to come by Lambert Funeral Home, Wednesday, October 30, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., to pay their respects.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be considered for Novant Health Foundation, 1701 S. Hawthorne Road Winston-Salem, NC 27103; Memo: Shirley Hepler.
