Samuel Preston Redman, 88, of Mocksville, died Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem.

He was born May 5, 1937, in Rowan County, to the late David Young and Addie Bell Gardner Redman. Mr. Redman was a member of First United Methodist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Lea Johnson Redman; a son, Dennis Redman; siblings, John D. Redman, William Redman, Charles Redman, Cora Redman, and George Redman.

Survivors include his special partner, Dixie Polk and her family; a sister, Iva Redman Gaines; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 19, 2025, at Rose Cemetery with Rev. Lori Ann Bowen, and Rev. Danny Redman officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be considered for Davie Community Foundation, P.O. Box 546, Mocksville, NC 27028, Memo: Dennis Redman Memorial Scholarship.
