On Friday, December 13, 2019, Ruby Christine Howell gained the biggest, brightest set of heavenly wings. She was born April 17, 1949, in the Farmington community to the late Cornelias Carson Howell. Ruby attended Davie County Schools. She was an awesome mother, homemaker and friend. Ruby was of the Apostolic faith. She enjoyed shopping, riding and being together with her church and family. Ruby loved to dance, laugh and dress up with rhinestones and sparkles. She was a true diva and her smile would brighten your day. Ruby was so compassionate and the best listener. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Sarah Cupie and Mozella Mo. She is survived by her husband, Nathaniel Dunlap; six children who will cherish her memory, Danny White of Mocksville, William Bill Mayfield, Jr. (Ann) of Kinston, Yvette Vette Mayfield, Angela Angie McNeil (Marvin Robinson), all of Lexington, Leonard Roy Dean Holland of Harmony and Danette FuFu Redmond (Timothy) of Advance; 14 grandchildren; a sister, Addie Gillespie (Norman); a brother, Melvin White; a brother-in-law, Paul Dobson; a special niece, Ruby Stevenson; a godbrother, James Shepard; special friends, Rosa Lee Arnold, Carolyn Harris, Kathie Foster and Crystal Sharpe; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m., Thursday, December 19, at Lambert Graham Funeral Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
