Roy Lee 'Cookie,' Pelote, was born in Brooklyn, NY, January 14, 1954 to the late Lee and Louise Williams. He graduated from P.S. 226 High School in Brooklyn. Roy worked at a Chevrolet dealership in New York, and later moved to Aberdeen, MD, where he worked at Hinder Ford Company. He moved to Virginia Beach, where he worked for Holland Road Auto Center. For the past fifteen years, he had lived in North Carolina, and worked for Bob Lyles Auto Shop in Mocksville. On December 4, 2001, he married Toni Williams. Roy dearly loved working on cars, and would do his customers a favor. On Monday, August 24, 2015, he died at his home following an extended illness. He is survived by his wife, Toni Pelote of the home; six children, Roy Lee (Stephanie) Pelote, II, Charell Williams, Nikiea Williams, La-Gena Cody, Floyd Cody, and Tony Cody; twenty-one grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; six brothers, Donald Williams, Ronald Williams, Christopher Williams, Jerome Pelote, Jeffrey Pelote, and Leonard Williams; one aunt, Magalene Pelote; other relatives and friends.
