Mr. Richard Paul Whitney, of Mocksville,70, passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at his home.

He was born June 2, 1953 in Nashua, NH to the late Earl Leonard and Rosetta Teresa Lavoie Whitney.

Mr. Whitney was a member at Concord United Methodist Church. He loved woodworking, gardening, and going to yard sales. Mr. Whitney never met a stranger.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Kevin Whitney.

Survivors include his wife over 50 years, Martha Eliza Whitney; children, Eliza Whitney Cranfill (Andy), Steven Francis Whitney, and Roszina Whitney Angus (Mark); siblings, Earl "Bucky", Merle, Donnie, Lee, Sonya, and Karen; grandchildren, Cora Nicole Whitney, Joshua McKinley Cranfill, Marshall Richard Coleman Whitney, Destin Pierce Whitney; and a grand kitty, Boots.

A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, April 28, 2024, at Concord United Methodist Church, with Rev. David Singletary officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. The family invites friends to visit with them at the church from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.
