Rachel Bohannon Brock Fowler was born on March 6, 1942 in Yadkin County, to the late Julia Bohannon and Hobert Kimbrough. She grew up at her grandmother's home in Winston-Salem. As an adult, she worked at B & F Sewing Factory in Mocksville. She loved to crochet, sew, fish, decorate her fish pond, and cook. She married George Brock, Sr., who preceded her in death in 1997. She later married James Fowler on September 11, 2004. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church, and recently was faithfully attending Refuge Community Church in Cooleemee. She was also preceded in death by one son, Lincoln Brock, Sr.; one granddaughter, Shandale Brock; two sisters, Nora Wiggins and Sally Lyons; and her step-father, Charlie Lester Lyons. Survivors include her husband, James Fowler, one son, George (Deborah) Brock of Mocksville; five daughters, Minnie Carter of Wilkesboro, Linda Lyons of Winston-Salem, Georgia (Roger) Dalton; Rose Brock and Elizabeth Martinez all of Mocksville; six sisters, Shirley Lyons and Alice Lyons of Lewiston, NC, Marie Lyons and Jacqueline (David) White of Durham, Constance Kimbrough and Sylvia Rolle both of Winston-Salem; one brother-in-law, Solomon Wiggins of Durham, NC; eighteen grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; six step-children, Brenda (Gary) Withers, Jeanette (Benjamin) Johnson, James (Wanda) Fowler, Jr., Selenea (Rodney) Barker, Mark (Jeanette) Fowler, and Carolyn D. (Chip) Fowler; a host of other relatives and friends. The family extends a special thanks to Community Home Care Hospice of Statesville, Wendy Brock, Vicki Martinez, and Shirley Lyons.
