Phillip Victor
Vincelette
Oct 7, 1932 — Aug 26, 2024
Phillip Victor Vincelette, age 91, passed away peacefully, Monday, August 26, 2024, in his home in Mocksville, North Carolina, with his devoted wife, Charlotte, by his side.
He was born October 7, 1932, in Burlington, Vermont, to the late Arthur & Nellie LaFrance Vincelette of Highgate Center, Vermont.
Phillip, better known as Vic, was born and raised along his beloved Mississquoi River. In July of 1955, he married his sweetheart, Charlotte Harding of Moravia, New York, and they settled down in Highgate Falls, Vermont. They spent the next 69 years together making memories, raising their daughter, Vicki, and enjoying their cherished grandchildren, Chris and Kasey. Vic and Charlotte moved to Mocksville, North Carolina in 2004, to be close to their daughter, Vicki, and grandson, Chris, where Vic lived out the rest of his life.
Vic was known to be a very strong, tough man, with a quick wit, and sharp tongue, yet hidden from most of the world was a tender, gentle, soft heart. He loved animals, especially his dogs, and had a black lab companion by his side most of his 91 years. Vic had a love for the water, and spent much of his life fishing and duck hunting on the Mississquoi River and Lake Champlain. He shared many of these memories with his daughter and side-kick, Vicki, who adored her dad. They loved hunting, fishing, trap shooting, and working on cars together. He always encouraged and empowered her that "girls can do anything boys can do".
Vic was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 98, and a highly respected Master Mechanic on heavy equipment primarily for Interstate Construction throughout New England. He was also a skilled Crain Operator, and constructed, supervised and managed Rock Crusher Operations in and around Vermont.
Vic is survived by his loving wife, Charlotte; his daughter, Vicki Vincelette Kuhn, and her husband Robert, Jr.; his grandson Christopher John Day, and his wife Alya; and his granddaughter Kasey Robinson Ellis, and her husband Andrew; along with numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by all of his siblings, Hazel, Leonard, Aldolph, Frederick, Pearl, Clifford, Mary, Howard, and Edward.
There will be no public services. Vic wanted his friends and family to remember him the way he was, larger than life! He also hoped for contributions to the Humane Society in lieu of flowers.
