Noil Herman Lovell, Jr., was born in Rowan County on May 27, 1943, son of the late Noil H. Lovell Sr., and the late Mary Montgomery Lovell. He was educated in Rowan County Public Schools and graduated from R.A. Clement High School in Cleveland in 1961. He entered the U.S. Army in 1965, and received an honorable discharge after three years of dedicated service. On September 4, 1981, he married Inez Arnold, and shared thirty-five years of marital bliss. 'June' was a truck driver, and worked for several employers, including McLean Trucking Company. He was gifted with building bird houses and rabbit hollows. On June 4, 2016 he died in W.G. Hefner VA Medical Center in Salisbury. He was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Lovell; one sister, Betty L. Lovell. He is survived by his wife, Inez M. Lovell of the home; one son, Deshawn Lovell of Kannapolis; five step-sons, Lester (Katie), Mike (Cynthia), Floyd, and Joby (Jackie) Arnold all of Mocksville, and Johnny (Sheila) Arnold of Woodleaf; one brother, Jerry Lovell of Cleveland; two sisters, Mary Lovell and Doris Noble both of Cleveland; seventeen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren.
