Nancy Ruth Angell Smith, 73, of Mocksville, died Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at Davie Nursing & Rehab.

She was born May 24, 1952, in Rowan County, to the late Wylie and Julia Ruth Saulsberry Angell. Nancy was a member of Turrentine Baptist Church. She had worked for V.F. Corporation and then later worked and retired from Jockey International.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Sherrill Smith; a daughter, Roxanne Smith Webb; a grandson, Jerry Andrew Webb; and siblings, James Timothy Angell, Brenda Kay Shoaf, and Rebecca Lee Allen.

Survivors include sons, Andrew Stephen Smith, Joseph Samuel Smith, and Austin Blake Smith; a sister, Christine Thompson; eight grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted at 4 p.m., Friday, April 24, at Turrentine Baptist Church with Pastor Ken Warner officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family invites friends to visit with them from 6 to 8 p.m., at Lambert Funeral Home, Thursday, April 23.
