Obituary

Mrs. Nancy Mae Abrams, 90, of Lexington,  passed away peacefully Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington.

She was born on April 23, 1934, in Yadkin County, to the late Jesse Lafayette and Mina Ruth Spears Collins. Nancy attended Fletcher Academy in Fletcher, and Washington Missionary College in Tacoma Park, Maryland. She grew up with a deep love for music, a gift that she shared with many throughout her life. From the age of 7, she began singing in church meetings and on the radio, and her passion for music remained a constant throughout her life.

In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lloyd Abrams; and her granddaughter, Brandi Mize.

She is survived by her two sisters, Patty Easton of High Point and Helen Ford of St. Petersburg, Florida; four daughters, Sandra Causey (Jimmy), Lori Savicki (Paul), Linda Glenn, and Kimberly Hege, as well as her niece who was like a daughter, Barbara Easton; grandchildren, Anissa Wall (Ian), Seth Causey, Tonya Glenn, Michael Glenn, Billey Colley, and Tyler Barnes; and her five great-grandchildren.

There will be no formal services. In memory of Nancy, her family invites those who knew her to celebrate her life in their own way, remembering the gift of music of which she so loved.
