Mrs. Hazel Mae Gray Davis was born in Iredell County, July 6, 1930, daughter of the late Ada Gray. She attended Iredell County Schools, and was a lifelong member of Piney Grove A.M.E. Zion Church, where she was a dedicated member. She was a member of the Senior Choir, president of the Usher Board, and a member of the Missionary Dept. On March 20, 1959, she was married to Marvin Davis. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, traveling, and most of all her church involvement. Two brothers, Junior Gray and Robert Gray preceded her in death. Two sisters, Louise James and Mary Gaither also preceded her in death. On July 5, 2010, she died in Gordon Hospice Home following an extended illness. She is survived by her husband, Marvin Davis of Savannah, GA; one son, Milton C. (Sharon) Davis of Charlotte; two daughters, Beverly (Donald) Hamilton of Savannah, GA, and Anita 'Shelly' (Reginald) Holmes of Savannah, GA; two sisters, Vivian Imes of Far Rockaway, NY, and Hester Thompson of Harmony; five grandchildren, Thaddus, Teleisha, Gregory, Nafia, and Donald, Jr.; a special friend, Eva Turner; several other relatives and friends.
