Mr. Morris Ray Smith, of Mocksville, 91, died Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at Compass Healthcare and Rehab Rowan, in Spencer.

He was born February 20, 1933, in Lenior County, to the late Haywood and Bessie Cora Davenport Smith.

He was an owner and operator of several businesses in Florida before retirement.

Survivors include his wife, Janet Carol Brown Smith; and sister, Lexine Jay.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
