Mr. Michael Duane Peebles, 61, of Mocksville, died unexpectedly Saturday, December 31, 2022, at his home.

He was born September 30, 1961, in Louisville, KY, to the late Buddy R. and Shirley Blair Peebles. Michael loved fishing - especially bass fishing, playing golf, and traveling with his wife.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Peebles; children, Sharon Arellano (Ivan) of Bardstown, KY, Joshua Peebles of Louisville, KY, and Scott Peebles of KY; stepchildren, Michael Nelson (Marie) of Fort Walton Beach, FL, Michelle Bond (Terry) of Troutman, Steven Nelson (Stacy) of Conroe, TX, and Teri McCollum (Adam) of Concord; sisters, Sheila Kasey (John) of Hillview, KY, Janet Matthews of Hillview, KY, and Mary Jeffries (Dan) of Shepherdsville, KY; one brother, Buddy Peebles, Jr. (Jan) of Bowling Green, KY; one sister-in-law, Rebecca Peebles of Bardstown, KY; one grandchild, Makaya Arellano; and several stepgrandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Nathan Peebles.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m., Wednesday, January 4, at Lambert Funeral Chapel, with Mr. Michael Nelson officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
