Michael Gaither, age 61, was born in Davie County on March 21, 1956, son of Mrs. Alice Lee Cannady Gaither, and the late Thomas A. Gaither. He graduated from Davie High School in 1974 and served in the United States Navy as a jet mechanic. He was currently residing in Winston-Salem, and was last employed as a landscaper. He attended Agape Faith Church in Clemmons, NC. In addition to his father, Michael was preceded in death by two brothers, Algeon Bernard Gaither and Melvin Alexander Gaither; one sister, Carol Gaither. He died at his residence on Thursday, March 30, 2017. He is survived by his mother, Alice Lee Gaither of Mocksville; three children, Melvin Pruitt, Michael Pruitt, and Melanie Pruitt; four brothers, Thomas Gordon (Shelvy) Gaither, Reginald Jerome Gaither, Victor Aaron (Clarissa) Gaither, and Pastor Julian (Dr. Krishuana) Gaither; four sisters, Doris Jimerson, Deborah Ellis, Thomasine Gaither, and Tomisha Gaither; eleven grandchildren, Brevin Goodlet, Brania Goodlet, Kandace McDaniel, Michael Holmes, Jadun Holmes, Rebecca Sawyer, Raven Pledger, Amuri Pledger, Isaiah Gaither, Ramone Pruitt, and Sanchez Spikes; one great-grandchild, Hudson McDaniel; a host of other relatives and friends.
