Ms. Martha Jo Ward, 68, of Mocksville, died Wednesday, February 10, 2021, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. She was born May 2, 1952, in Iredell County, to the late Owen Franklin and Opal Louise Foster Ward. Ms. Ward had been employed at Davie County Hospital in Mocksville for many years and had retired from Old Vineyard Behavioral Health. She had attended church at Victory on the Front Line in Lexington. Survivors include a daughter, Melissa Richardson; a son, Joshua Phipps (Stephanie); a sister, Linda Adams (Alford); two brothers, Gene Ward (Nancy) and Kelly Ward, all of Mocksville; and four grandchildren, Brandon Richardson, Luke Phipps, Lily Phipps and Sadie Phipps. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m., Sunday, February 14, at Smith Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery, with Pastor Mike Duffield officiating.
