Mrs. Martha Ellen Deese Plowman, 83, died Monday, September 30, 2019. She was born January 31, 1936, in Stanly County, to the late John Fletcher and Nettie Ellen Clontz Deese. Mrs. Plowman was a member of Kinza Memorial Baptist Church in Stanfield and was retired from Mebane Industries. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William David Plowman, Jr.; two sisters; and two brothers. Survivors include a daughter, Debra Raper (Lynn) of Statesville; three sons, Steve Plowman of Mocksville, Dennis Plowman of China Grove and Charlie Plowman of Rockwell; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Allie Mag Deese of Mt. Pleasant; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m., Thursday, October 3, at Kinza Memorial Baptist Church, 4311 Love Mill Road, Stanfield, NC 28163. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
