Mrs. Martha Jane Pennell Cheek, 91, of Advance,  died Saturday, November 23, 2024, at Kate B. Hospice Home in Winston-Salem.

Mrs. Cheek was born on October 14, 1933, in Caldwell County, to the late Mishael Augustus and Winnie Mae Grubb Pennell.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Cheek; three children, Lawrence Thomas Ingram, Dale Lee Ingram, and Sharon Lee Ingram; brothers, George, Reuben, Lynn, Jack, and Jay; two half-brothers, Charlie, and Oyde; two half-sisters, Tressie, and Daisy; and a grandson, Tommy Ingram.

Survivors include son, Bruce Ingram (Tammy L.); two sisters, Alvania Starnes, and Elsie Bentley (Larry); grandson, Adam Ingram; granddaughters, Crystal Harrell, Stephanie Rayoum, and Lauren Ma; caregiver, Doris Sullivan; numerous great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m., Saturday, November 30, at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Hamptonville, with Rev. Rick Atkins officiating. www.lambertfuneralhomenc.com
