Mr. Mark Randall Dukes, 62, of Mocksville, died unexpectedly Saturday, June 22, 2024, at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem.

He was born March 10, 1962, in Lake Providence, LA, and lived most of his life there. Mark had just moved to Mocksville about a year and a half ago. He was a member of North Main Street church of Christ. Mark was a man who had a big heart, and was willing to help anyone he was able to. He enjoyed farming, welding, and being outside. Mark loved his family, especially his grandbabies.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Troyce Benton and Minnie Lee Hart Dukes; his wife, Johnette Williams Dukes; and sisters, Brenda Dukes Simmons and Paula Dukes Weems.

Survivors include his daughter, Alicea Cleary; brothers, Michael "Lynn" Dukes and Johnny Dukes; grandbabies, Zoey Randall Renae Cleary, Ayden Cade Cleary, Michael Williams, and Katelyn Williams; special childhood friend, Belinda Nuckols (Eddie); best friends, Bill Hopkins (cousin), and Joe Faircloth; and Belinda's daughters, whom he also considered special friends, Jessica Midgette (James), and Candice Smith.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at Lambert Funeral Chapel. To provide the community an opportunity to celebrate the life of Mr. Dukes, there will be a live webcast of his service on the Lambert Funeral Home website, as well as by visiting the following https://webcast.funeralvue.com/events/viewer/102584. Interment will follow in Jericho church of Christ Cemetery on Greenhill Road. The family invites friends to visit with them at the funeral home, one hour prior to the service.
