Margaret Jeanne Velopolcak Mondlak, 88, of Mocksville, passed away Sunday, April 26, 2026, at her home.

She was born October 18, 1937, in Warren, NJ, to the late Andrew and Elizabeth Unger Velopolcak. She married Alexander Mondlak on June 21, 1958, at the Ukrainian Catholic Church in West Easton, Pennsylvania. Margaret and Alexander moved to Mocksville in 2002. She was a faithful member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Mocksville and a devoted member of the Catholic Daughters for 50 years. Margaret was a talented gardener and an outstanding cook, known especially for her delicious Eastern European dishes, including pierogies and halupkis.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Judith Dickens; and a brother-in-law, Thomas Dickens.

Survivors include her husband, Alexander Mondlak of the home; children, Doreen M. Mondlak of NC, Brian A. Mondlak of WV, and Stephen A. Mondlak of OH; grandchildren, Vincent Boyle of IL, Audrey Malisa of AZ, Matthew Mondlak of TX, and Hannah Mondlak of OH; and a nephew, Thomas Dickens, III.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11 a.m., Thursday, April 30, at St. Francis of Assisi Church, with Rev. Father Eric L. Kowalski. The family invites friends to visit with them from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, April 29, at Lambert Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be considered for St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church Building & Maintenance Fund, 862 Yadkinville Rd., Mocksville, NC 27028; or Davie Pregnancy Care Center, 491 Madison Rd., Mocksville, NC 27028.
