Marcia Jean Saltford Nelson, 81, of Advance, was eternally healed, Monday, May 12, 2025, surrounded by love at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem.

She was born June 21, 1943, in Poughkeepsie, NY, to the late Herbert Wetherbee and Beatrice Anton Saltford. Marcia was always ready for an adventure; she loved traveling and experiencing the world. She graduated from Elmira College. Marcia was a longtime resident of Davie County. She was a member of New Philadelphia Moravian Church in Winston-Salem.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hollister Nelson; and two brothers, Art Saltford, and Dick Saltford.

Survivors include children, Keith Nelson, and Jennifer Nelson; a sister, Linda Saltford; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; a massive number of non-biological children many of whom called her Mom; and many friends.

A celebration will be held at a later time.
