Obituary

Mack Evelyn Dobson, 69, was born in Surry County on June 2, 1942, son of the late Harry Lee and Hattie Cockerham Dobson. He attended Yadkin County Schools and worked in textile industry at Hugh Chatham, Arista, and Indera Mills. For the past eleven years he made his home at Elkin Retirement Center. Mack loved music, dancing, telling jokes, and making people happy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five siblings, Brenda, Wade, Yvonne, Samuel, and Ronnie. On September 12, 2011 he died in Dobson Hospice Home following a short illness. He is survived by one daughter, Alisa Smith; three brothers, Hugh (Clara) Dobson of Yadkinville, Eddie (Lisa) Redmon of McLeansville, NC, and James Dobson of Mocksville; four sisters, Earlene (Robert) Russell of Yadkinville, Elaine(James) Coulter of Hickory, Carolyn (Henry) Speaks of Harmony, and Marie Gaither of Dale City, VA; a number of other relatives and friends.
