Mrs. Linda Darlene Stanley "Grandmother" Shores, 75, of Woodleaf, died Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem.

She was born on February 22, 1949, in Rowan County, to the late Thomas David Luther and Jessie Leieh Cooley Stanley.

Linda enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She never met a stranger. Linda was always helping others, there wasn't anything she wouldn't do for anyone, if she was able.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Gray Shores; siblings, Joe Stanley, Alamae Sparks, Lynn Motsinger, Dean Chaffin, Nora Corbett, Dora Corbett, Tom Stanley, Fred Stanley, Zelma McCleand, Martha "Cooter" Stanley, Barbara "Pinky" Stanley, Doug Stanley, David Stanley, Dolly Brown, Ollie Stanley, and Joy Chaffin; and grandchildren, James Shores, Jeremy Waller, and Claudia Willis.

Survivors include children, Steve Shores, Dean Shores, Donald Shores, Tammy Boger, Timmy Green, and Chris Wilson; grandchildren, Courtney Waller, Tammy Summer, Melanie Willis, and Matt Willis; great-grandchildren, Kloie Shores, Levi Jones, Cheyenne McCormick, Jase Jones, Amber, Caleb, and Austin Mills; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be conducted at 6 p.m., Saturday, October 26, at Lambert Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Chris Williams officiating. The family invites friends to visit with them at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
