Linda Fay Lyons was born May 23, 1961, in Halifax, North Carolina. She attended Davie County Schools and received her GED from Forsyth Technical Community College. Linda worked in the Davie County School System and retired from Wake Forest University, where she worked as a security guard. Fishing was her hobby and she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Linda was a hard worker, full of life, and never met a stranger. In recent years she loved to sit on her porch reminiscing, have long telephone conversations, and enjoy a good ride on a beautiful day. She was a member of New Generation Praise and Worship Church in Winston-Salem, NC. She was preceded in death by her mother, Rachel B. Fowler; one brother, Lincoln M. Brock; her step-father, George Brock, Sr. On Saturday, September 17, 2016, she peacefully passed away in Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem. She is survived by her father, Chester (Mildred) Tillery of Halifax; one son, Darran (fiance Kara) Lyons of Statesville; two daughters, Melissa Lyons and Lakeshia (Paul) Jeter, both of Winston-Salem; two brothers, George (Debra) Brock, Jr., and Terry (Delores) Tillery of Kentucky; five sisters, Georgia (Roger) Dalton, Rose Brock, Elizabeth Martinez all of Mocksville, Minnie Carter of Wilkesboro, and Vonda Tillary of Greenville; three grandchildren, Shiyah Lyons, Damaris Lyons, and Dayshaun Jeter; one step-son, Thomas Hunter, Jr.; her step-father, James Fowler, who was a caring, loving father to her, and visited her frequently during her illness; a devoted friend, Kenneth Perry; and a large number of other relatives and friends.
