Lillian Dalton Doulin was born in Iredell County, January 22, 1924, daughter of the late Nick and Lillie Carson Dalton. Lillian attended elementary school in Yanceyville, VA and high school in Iredell County. At an early age, Lillian joined Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, where she was a faithful member as long as her health permitted. In 1955, Lillian was united in marriage to John C. Doulin. To this union, three daughters were born. Lillian loved to do word search puzzles, cook, and care for her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Lillian was preceded in death by her husband on February 15, 2003. Eight siblings and one son-in-law, Marshall Allen Steele, also preceded her in death. On Wednesday, July 24th, while at home, Lillian peacefully transitioned to her Heavenly Father, surrounded by her loved ones. Lovingly, she is survived by three daughters, Patricia Steele, Toni Dalton, and Treva Doulin her dedicated caregiver; one son-in-law, Daniel Tatum; eight grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
