Mr. Leroy Steele, 83, was born on Oct. 2, 1933, to the late Augustus and Zora C Steele. He transitioned on the morning of July 6th, with his wife, son, and daughter at his bedside at Iredell Memorial Hospital. He was educated in the Iredell County School System. He worked for various employers as an auto mechanic, including Carl Daniels Garage, Cliff Stack Garage, Holly Farms and Tyson Chicken. Leroy is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Janet Elaine Dalton; one son, Darren; one daughter, FeLisa (Leon) Simington; three sisters, Martha Allison, Lois Winfred and Ruby Lucas; five brothers, Charles Steele, Dallas (Irene) Steele, John P (Dorothy) Steele, Jimmy (Elaine) Steele, Clarence Steele; one sister-in-law, Betty Redmon; a host of nieces, nephews, and the Mount Nebo Baptist Church family.
