Larry Wayne James, age 62, was born in Iredell County on June 29, 1954, son of the late Mack and Louise Gray James. He attended Iredell County Schools, and at an early age, he joined Piney Grove AME Zion Church. He had worked at Funder America and ABI Sock Company before becoming disabled. James, who was affectionately called, Krazy Kat, loved baseball, drag racing, fishing, and making crafts. He also liked to dance, and garden. On Thursday, September 29, 2016, he died at his home, following a sudden illness. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Herbert James, Harry James, Donnie James, and Aaron James. He is survived by one son, Cortez Holland; three daughters, Tonja James of South Carolina, Tiffany James of Cleveland, and Danica Little of Athens, Georgia; a special friend, Shelia Scott of Mocksville; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Perry (Frankie) James of Mocksville, and Ravon (Liz) James of Hamptonville; two sisters, Sadellia (Henry) Gaither of Harmony, and Debra (David) Watkins of Statesville; one sister-in-law, Betty James of Harmony; two aunts, Hester James of Harmony and Vivian Imes of Far Rockaway, NY; other relatives and friends.
