Kenneth Ray 'Kenny G' Gaither was born in Iredell County on March 29, 1954, son of the late Ernest Owens and Novella Turner Gaither. He graduated from North Iredell High School. He worked at Blue Ridge Textile and Mike Gaither's Roofing Company. His last employment was with Fred Johnson, where he loved working on the farm, driving the tractor and talking to the chickens. He also loved fishing and good times with friends. On Thursday, June 3, 2010, he died in Statesville. He is survived by five brothers, James (Barbara) Gaither, Henry (Sadellia) Gaither, and Ernest Gaither all of Harmony, Stamey Gaither and George Turner both of Statesville; one sister, Diane (John) Chambers of Fayetteville, NC; a special cousin, Clarice Redmon; other relatives and friends.
