Kathy Canupp Boger Ray, of North Myrtle Beach, passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2026, after a brief illness.
Kathy was graduated from Davie High School with the Class of 1971, and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Mocksville. She enjoyed her years working at BB&T and was an avid homemaker and decorator.
Kathy was married for 51 years to Norman Harold Boger Jr., who passed away in 2023. Together they enjoyed life on their farm and later their retirement years at Cherry Grove Beach. They were proud and devoted parents to their daughter, Kelly Boger Smith (Eric).
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, John "Deat" and Ola Canupp; and by her husband, Norman Harold Boger Jr.
She is survived by her best friend and sister, Brenda Spillman Eaton; her loving and lifelong supportive brother-in-law, James "Jim" Alexander Eaton; and her loving husband, Gregory Kent Ray, whom she happily married on November 21, 2025. Together they shared many laughs and spent lots of time dancing.
Additional survivors include her mother-in-law, Ann Boger Cranford; sisters-in-law, Sandra Hall (Lewis) and Robin Gaskins; brother-in-law, Mitchell Ray (Ann); and special nieces and nephews, Charlene, Deree, Jennifer, Lori, Ryan, Laya, Josh, Summer, Lindsey, Ty, and Abbey.
Kathy will be remembered for her love of family, her welcoming home, and the joy she found in creating beautiful spaces and meaningful memories for those she loved.
Her memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m., Sunday, March 8, at Eatons Baptist Church. A graveside service will immediately follow in the church cemetery.
