Karen Regina Murdock Birdsong, 61, of Mocksville, died Thursday, December 18, 2025, at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem.

She was born February 7, 1964, in Beckley, WV, to the late James Clifton and Millie Ann Cursner Murdock.

Karen loved camping and kayaking, enjoyed riding motorcycles, spending time with her grandkids, and working with her flowers. She cherished her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Allen Murdock; a niece, Twyla Lily; a nephew, Doug Murdock; a sister-in-law, Charlotte Sawyer; and brother-in-law, Roger Lily.

She is survived by her husband, Charles Westley Birdsong; children, Charles "Chuck" Westley Birdsong, Jr (Kandy), Brian Scott Birdsong (Megan), and Brandy Charlene Sides (Tommy); grandchildren, Caden Birdsong, Maleah Birdsong, Jacob Sides, Elijah Sides, and Cash Birdsong; siblings, Alma Lily, James Murdock, Jessie Adams, Pam Lambert, Patricia Sturgill, Melissa Shrewsbury, and Randy Murdock; and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted at 3 p.m., Tuesday, December 23, at Lambert Funeral Chapel. The family invites friends to visit with them at the funeral home immediately following the service.
