Joyce Ann McDaniel Shaver, 65, of Mocksville, died Sunday, August 22, 2021, at her home. She was born July 17, 1956, in Davie County. Joyce was a member of Anchor Baptist Church. She had served as a housekeeper at Rowan and Forsyth Hospital. Joyce enjoyed going to yard sales, watching soap operas, camping, and eating out. Her favorite pastime was spending every minute she could with family and friends, and documenting it by taking pictures. She was preceded in death by her mother, Annie Lee Frye Call; her father, Gilbert Lee McDaniel; a grandson, Loyd Carter Taylor, III; an uncle; and her beloved dog, Ginger. Survivors include her husband of 32 years, Michael Dean Shaver; children, Melissa Taylor (Loyd) and Jason Lee Kimrey (Niki); grandchildren, Cayce Leigh Ann Taylor Poulsen (Garrett), Dawson Ray Ottis Taylor, Lindsay Marie Kimrey, and Taylor Lee Kimrey; siblings, Carolyn Phillips (Steve) and David McDaniel; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Friday, August 27, at Lambert Funeral Chapel, with Pastor Darren Yow and Pastor L. C. Taylor, Sr. officiating. Interment will follow in Westlawn Gardens of Memory in Clemmons. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m., Thursday, August 26, at the funeral home.
