Joyce Elaine Bumgarner, 74, of Mocksville, is at peace with her Heavenly Father, she passed on Thursday, June 12, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born August 27, 1950, in Iredell County, to the late Johnny Lee and Jacqueline Elmina Rumple Smith.

She was married to the love of her life Johnny W. Bumgarner for 42 years. She was a caregiver to many and loved them all.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Wayne Bumgarner; a brother, Jesse Duffy Smith; and a special niece, Deana Starnes.

She leaves behind her two daughters, Cindy Lowthorp Wolfe, and Treva Lowthorp; one son, Terry Lowthorp, Jr. (Rhonda); a brother, Johnny Lee Smith, Jr.; a sister-in-law, Kaye Campbell; seven grandchildren, Rebecca (Samuel), Terry III, Thomas, Austin (Waylon), Travis, Olivia (Andrew), and Master of ALL Chevy Mack; eight great-grandchildren, Kaleb, Kason, Gatlin, Tennessee, Charli, Colt, Harper, and Barrett; her BFF of 42 years, Vickie Loftin; cool cousin, Debra Crouch; and many cousins, friends, neighbors, and her friends at the Goodwill store in Mocksville, and Donna Shoemaker and her family.

She loved you all deeply and she hopes you all wake up every morning with a smile on your face, a giggle of a child, and remember you are loved. Laughter is the best medicine. She will watch over you all.
