Obituary

Josephine Fisher Hamilton was born July 13, 1932 in Rowan County, daughter of the late Jonas F. Fisher and Edna Fleming Fisher. She attended Rowan County Schools and was a homemaker. She was married to Jacob Hamilton, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by four brothers, William L. Fisher, James A. Fisher, Samuel L. Fisher, and Jonas F. Fisher, Jr.; and three sisters, Edna B. Scott, Catherine Imes, and Naomi Fisher. JoJo enjoyed fishing, cooking, game shows, and completing crossword puzzles. Although she had no children of her own, she took Melissa, a niece, to be her very own, and also Melissa's husband, William Summers, their children, Sharika and Maisha Summers, and grandchildren, Jaelah Thompson and Ashton Summers. On July 30, 2018, she entered into rest peacefully at her residence, surrounded by her family. She is lovingly survived by one sister, Maggie F. Bailey of Statesville; two sisters-in-law, Margaret H. Fisher of Mt. Ulla, and Juanita D. Fisher of Woodleaf; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
