ANDERSON MOCKSVILLE - Mrs. Josephine Thomas Anderson, 88, has gone to be with her Lord on Thursday, February 10, 2022. She was born September 6, 1933, in Iredell County, to the late Robert S. and Thelma Norman Thomas. Mrs. Anderson was of the Methodist faith and was a certified lay speaker. She was a graduate of Harmony High School, Class of 1950. Mrs. Anderson had been employed at the J.C. Penney Distribution Center, Hunter Manufacturing Inc. and as a school crossing guard in Statesville. She loved her Bible and taught many Bible classes. Mrs. Anderson also loved to travel. She wanted to see the world God had made. Mrs. Anderson had visited about 40 countries, both above and below the Equator and across the International Date Line. She had also visited ALL 50 states. Mrs. Anderson was a member of the Colonial Dames, tracing her ancestry back to the original Colonies. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Lloyd Anderson; and a beloved aunt, Janie Thomas. Survivors include her beloved son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Kathleen Anderson; sons, Robert Lee Anderson and James Michael Anderson; her sister, Addie T. Bradsher; a niece; many nephews; and several grandchildren. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m., Tuesday, February 15, at Zion Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery, with Chaplain Patricia Greene officiating. The service will be available to view on the Lambert Funeral Home website. The family invites friends to come by Lambert Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m., Monday, February 14, to pay their respects.
