Mr. Joseph Bailey Mason, was born May 19, 1924, in Mocksville, NC. He was the only child of Catherine and Charlie Mason. He was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church, where he served on the Deacon Board, and also helped with the upkeep of the grounds. 'Son' Mason worked hard and provided for his family. He retired from Burlington Industries after years of service, and later went back to work at their Stanley plant. Joseph loved to work with his hands, fish, and always had a good joke to share. He liked to make people laugh. He had a very gentle spirit, and always took one day at a time. He was well loved and respected by his family, friends, and community. Joseph was preceded in death by his wife, Minnie Mason, in 2008, and a daughter, Josephine Mason, in 1999. He entered into eternal rest on March 10, 2016. He is survived by five sons, Larry (Brenda) Johnson of Baltimore, MD; Eddie Johnson of Statesville; Marion, Randy, and Terry Johnson all of Mocksville; two daughters, Crystal (the late Rev. James) Clement, and Sherri (Min. Brian) Diggs, both of Mocksville; twenty-eight grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; several other relatives and friends.
