Obituary

John D. "Mike" Osborne, 84, died Friday, June 19, 2026, at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem.

He was born on October 12, 1941, in Rowan County, to the late Nelson and Edith Eldridge Bringle Osborne. Mike honorably served his country in the U.S. Army as a member of the 82nd Airborne Division. He was retired from Ingersol-Rand. Mike was an avid rabbit hunter and a charter member of Tarheel Beagle Club.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Dr. June Nelson Osborne.

Survivors include his wife, Judy Ann Hendrix Osborne; children, Jill Leigh Osborne and Charles "Randy" Osborne (Emily); sisters, Malinda Burks, Priss Nyhart, and Dreama Osborne; brother-in-law, Sam Hendrix; grandchildren, Kamryn Osborne Whittaker, "Charlie" Anderson Osborne, and Kaisee Osborne Taylor (Avery); great-grandchildren, Hudson, Carter, and Mason Whittaker; several nieces and nephews; and loyal canine companion, Peanut.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Friday, June 26, at Lambert Funeral Chapel, with Pastor Gene Tutterow officiating. The family invites friends to visit with them from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, June 25, at Lambert Funeral Home.
