Mr. John Marshall Koontz, 86, of Mocksville, died Thursday, February 22, 2024, at his home.

He was born September 26, 1937, in Davie County, to the late Marshall Wilson and Laurra Hasseltine Campbell Koontz. John was retired from Roadway Express, with over 40 years of service. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. John was a member of the NC National Guard.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Ann Stroud Koontz; sisters, Elizabeth Woodward and Glenda Mosny; and brothers, Charlie A. Koontz, Joe Koontz, and Glenn W. Koontz.

Survivors include a daughter, Melanie Caroline Koontz, brothers, Jack Koontz (Kay) and Arthur Koontz (Barbara); and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m., Sunday, February 25, at Salem Methodist Church Cemetery, with Rev. David Tifft officiating.
