Joan Catherine Giel Reynolds, 73, of Mocksville, died Sunday, October 18, 2026, at Heritage of Cedar Rock.

She was born June 17, 1953, in Queens, NY, to the late Thomas John and Katherine Ruth Grubel Giel. Joan dedicated her career to caring for others as a respiratory therapist with Novant Health, where she served with compassion and kindness until her retirement. She had a special fondness for dogs and found joy in the simple beauty of nature, especially watching birds. These little things brought happiness to her life and reflected her appreciation for the world around her. She was of the Catholic faith and attended First United Methodist Church alongside her beloved late husband, Ron.
