Jimmy Tyrone Thompson was born September 1, 1968, in Davie County. He is the son of Jimmy Lee Thompson and Rosetta (Thompson) Gaither. He attended Davie County Schools and received a GED. Jimmy loved to fish and spend time with his family and friends. He was employed as an automotive mechanic. Relatives who preceded him in death include his paternal grandfather, Son Thompson, and his maternal grandparents, John and Augusta Gaither. On Thursday, May 14, 2015, he died following an extended illness and he was seriously ill for a brief period. Devoted survivors include one son, Justin Thompson of Greenville, NC; one daughter, Brittany Thompson of Salisbury, NC; one brother, Barron Thompson of Mocksville, NC; one sister, Lisa Thompson of Mocksville, NC; three grandchildren, Elijah, Taliah, and Deshaye; two nephews, Travis Thompson and Darius Torrence; the mother of his children, April Thomspon of Salisbury; other relatives and friends.
