Jerry Lee Shermer, Jr., 43, of Mocksville, passed away mid-June, 2025 at his home.

He was born August 15, 1981, in Forsyth County, to the late Jerry Lee, Sr. and Shari Phelps Shermer.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by the love of his life and the common law wife, Jenny Lynn Joyce.

Jerry and Jenny spent 12 inseparable years together. The last year of Jerry's life was devoted to Jenny's care as she suffered from a debilitating illness. He cared for her selflessly until the very end. They were everything for each other.

Survivors include a very special cousin, Justin Sheppard (Katie), with whom he shared a close and brotherly relationship. Also surviving is Jenny's daughter, Eden Joyce Juarez. As well as those individuals, Jerry leaves behind Aunts, Uncles and several nieces and nephews. Included in those nieces and nephews are Eli Johnson, Merrill Johnson and Emily Johnson.

Some of his last joyful days were spent attending their sporting events and spending time with them tossing footballs.

Jerry was a kind and generous person, as well as a talented machinist and large equipment operator. He could fix almost anything and volunteered his talents to many in need. His career was spent at McDaniel Grading and Hauling alongside his good friend, Brian McDaniel.

A small, family only service will be held on Sunday, July 13, at 6:30pm, near the lake were Jerry and Jenny loved to fish and spent so many happy times together. If interested in attending, please phone Lambert's to be connected to a family member
