Jerry Lee McIvor, lovingly referred to as 'Papa Jerry', was called home in the early morning hours on Wednesday, April 16, 2014. He was born Jan. 3, 1955, and attended Davie County Schools. Jerry served in the United States Army Reserve and pursued a career as a truck driver, where he enjoyed traveling the country for twelve years for various companies. He also loved fishing, working in the yard, cooking and most of all, serving his church, Smith Grove A.M.E Zion Church in Mocksville, NC. He was preceded in death by his father and brother. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Clessie Coles; sister, Queenesther Powell; aunt, Mary McIvor-Williams; a close friend and caregiver, Mrs. Mozelle Johnson; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
